MUFA Flat Belly Diet Plan – experts and users review

Ed Zimney, M.D. from HealthTalk: “There is no miracle cure for belly fat. Complex, restricted diets requiring calorie counting and MUFAs at every meal are bound to fail. Eat a little less, exercise a little more. Lower your fat intake and replace some, or a lot, of your bad fats with MUFAs.”

Sassy, reader of Diet Blog: “I purchased this book because I have tried many programs since menopause, and have failed miserably in all. I am on day 3 of jumpstart, and have not lost an ounce yet, but I guess that is ok.”

Kelly, reader of Diet Blog: “The website to this diet is awful. It has a lot of technical problems and was not even giving subscribers accurate information on how much they should be eating so most people were eating 300-600 calories more a day than they should be! Also, they have a recurring billing system and the only way to cancel is to call an 800# which no one ever answers. I have yet to be able to cancel my membership.”

Tammy from HealthTalk: “I’m on my 3rd week of the flat belly diet, lured in by Good Morning America. I have not lost or gained a pound.”

Rating: 1/5

My husband & I have been on the Flat Belly Diet for 4 months and have lost a total of 6(him) and 5(me) inches off of our waists. We are not ever hungry between meals and look and feel great. It is not difficult to follow, buy, or prepare the food and if we are out we just take our MUFA’s in a small container. I bought the book and gleaned out the pertinent information and got on the website (that isn’t great) and set up a the diets. It has been wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone who can read, understand, and follow extremely simple directions.

I am using the flat belly diet not particularly to lose belly fat, but to lose weight, so far have been eating to my satisfaction and not passing hunger. So far in 9 days have lost 2.4 kilos, roughly 5 pounds, and so far can feel the difference in some previously tight fitting trousers. am quite happy if ican at least achieve a weekly goal of losing 2kg per week.

The Flat Belly Diet works! I wish they didn’t call it a diet because it is a realistic way to eat. No tricks, just good food. I have lost 8 pounds in 8 weeks. If I exercised I would lose more, but one thing at a time.

I bought the book and, although i was disappointed in the sloppy editing of the book, i like the concept. I’ve lost 5 pounds so far and my husband has noticed that my belly is looking good. I agree with Kelly fropm the diet blog, who noted that although the meals are supposed to be about 400 calories each, some of the meals planned are actually more than 400 calories - this made me distrust the info provided. However, I’ve found that following the basics of the plan has helped me to lose weight without being hungry. I’ve also found that the recipes provided are tasty, healthy & filling. After three weeks on the plan, my stomach now lets me know when I’m consuming more than i should.
doownsides to the plan:
really poor editing of the book
namebrand snacks that are not available in may areas
lack of honesty regarding the need for excersize

upsides:
good recipes
sassy water
providing a good understanding of the differences in fats

I too was skeptical of any and all fad diet plans, I have tried and failed them all miserably. The biggest disaster for me was the Atkins Diet. For some reason my body rejected it, no matter how I resisted Carbs, I did not loose 1 lb. in fact I gained weight! But I am happy to say I have finally found something that works for me! I followed the instructions from the website and lost 7lbs and 1 dress size the first week. Unfortunatly the next week I was not as strict with my calorie counting and did not loose any weight but continue to loose inches from my waist! I’ll update you 7-10 days with my progress.

I’d like to be able to followup on Faith’s progress. I hope you are doing great on your diet. I’m on that same boat like alot of other people. I’ve done all fad diet plans, work out 4 days a week at least, drink plenty of water, eat pretty healthy (do slip once a week) take diet pills, cleansing teas, etc., I’ve hit 50 and it just makes me feel like there’s no hope! I’m going to try this diet with “FAITH” in my heart and mind.
