If you are overweight and trying to find a solution online, you may hear many people shouting Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst “Top Secret Fat Loss Secret” as the ultimate solution. Everybody is saying that it works. If you follow the program, you will “lose weight, look younger and live longer”. In addition, you see all the buzz words in the sales page, including “world famous TV lady doctor” and “as seen on TV”. So the ultimate question is, does it really work, or just another hype?
My answer is pretty simple: NO it’s not recommended. Following are the reasons:
1. No secret: there’s no secret inside the book! In fact, you will read all the facts you already know to achieve permanent and health weight loss, including: control your food portion, regular exercise, avoid processed foods, exercise regularly(3 times a week), eliminate processed food, get good fats(fish oil) and lean protein etc. Do you think you want to pay $57.00 to find out all these?
2. The detox gimmick: Dr Gudakunst tells you to cleanse your liver and colon periodically to remove the toxins and worms from your body. Do you really need to cleanse your colon and liver? Do you really need to remove the ‘poisons’ from your body? Just read this from WebMD:
“According to doctors and registered dietitians who spoke to WebMD, the answer is a resounding “no”. ”
The truth is, most doctors advise against detox diet as your colon is efficient enough in natural cleansing.
3. Credibility: If Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst is really a medical doctor, why didn’t she list her qualification and related work experience on her websites? According to a forum member from scam.com:
“I have contacted the AMA and looked on a site that list doctors for the US, Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst does not exist.”
I cannot verify if this statement is true or not. However, I notice that a lot of doctors are not afraid publish their biography online. You can take a look of an example of Dr. Mehmet Oz at his Wikipedia page.
3. Clinical studies: I see no clinical studies directly related to Dr Suzanne Gudakunst’s diet plan. At such, the long term safety and effectiveness of the diet plan is not known.
4. As seen on TV? So? These days, if you have big advertising budget, you can advertise on TV. However, it does not say anything about the product itself.
5. Questionable review: you may read many positive reviews from internet. Be very careful as most of them are written by affiliates who are promoting the book for 50% commission. Will they have your best interest in mind? Have they tried the program? If yes, did the program help them to lose weight?
