Diet Plate Review- does it help you to lose weight?

by Alex

The Diet Plate has released to UK and US market.Based on the portion control theory, the plate is said be effective in weight loss.
How it works? The Diet plate is split into sections measured to help you control portion size. The portion sizes are based on the healthy eating guidelines so that you do not miss the important nutrients. There are few types of Diet plate for different categories: female, male, child and breakfast bowl. The male diet plate is calibrated for an about 800 calories meal, and female’s provides a 650 calories meal.

According to MedPage:

“A plate and a cereal bowl marked for a portion size designed to limit calorie intake helped obese diabetic patients know when enough is enough, researchers reported.
After six months, patients with type 2 diabetes who used the tableware were more than 3.5 times as likely to have lost at least five pounds as were patients given usual care, Sue D. Pedersen, M.D., of the University of Calgary, and colleagues, reported in the June 25 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.
In addition, the patients using portion control were able to safely decrease their glycemic-control medications, the researchers reported.”

The above study used the Diet Plate system. The advantage of the Diet Plate system is it took away the guesswork from weight maintenance. You do not have to count calories, points or fat grams. Made by Royal Stafford Tableware Ltd, the diet plate is both microwave and dishwasher safe.

What about the price? It’s not cheap! A single plate sells for $30 in US. The system and its associated studies clearly illustrate the importance of portion control. If you don’t want to fork up money for the diet plate, use measuring cup instead. Nonetheless, the diet plate is still relatively cheaper than other ‘diet helpers’ that many paid big bucks for.
